Hardwood Floor Cleaning

We have the proper equipment to rejuvenate your hardwood floors and bring back the shine and luster you fell in love with.

Beautiful hardwood floors are the ultimate dream for many homeowners. They’re an excellent investment because they boost the market value of your property while also improving its appearance. However, they are often overlooked until they are in bad shape. Hardwood floor cleaning and buffing should be done professionally every 18 to 36 months.

Your floors can be restored to their natural beauty by hiring a professional to clean them. Not only that, but they can also help get rid of grime buildup, dead skin cells, body oils, pet dander and odor, household allergens, dust, mildew, and more. As a result, pets and children can be better protected against illness.

Hardwood Floor Cleaning PROCESS

Our hardwood floor cleaning process is meant to maintain wood floors that are in good condition. Our process is a sandless process and will not remove deep scratches but does remove dirt and residue that becomes impacted in the grooves of the floor.

We will use floor buffers and scrubbing machines after applying our cleaning solution to break up and suspend dirt, grease, and odors for removal. These contaminants will then be recovered into our extraction machines.

This process lightly abrades the floor to prepare it to accept a new polyurethane finish. It will remove some scratches and discoloration as well. However, If the scratches are deep enough to catch a fingernail in, they are generally too deep to be removed with screening. Deep scratches must be fully sanded out during a wood floor refinishing process. Screening does not remove the wood stain or change the color of the floors. Screening can significantly improve the appearance and durability of wood floors, postponing complete refinishing.

After a wood floor is screened, it must be recoated, or it is very susceptible to damage. It will also be dull in appearance after screening. Applying a professional grade, high solids polyurethane finish provides rock-hard, waterproof, lasting protection and lets the natural wood shine. These finishes are available in matte, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss to meet your desired shine level.

Hardwood Floor Maintenance Tips

Maintaining a Hardwood Floor can be difficult. Here are Some Practical Tips To Help You Keep It Clean:

A lot of dust is in the air, which can accumulate in the cracks between the floorboards. That’s why it’s important to sweep or vacuum the floor a few times a week.

Use a hardwood-specific cleaner and mop with minimum water. Avoid soaking your floor since this may cause it to swell.

A thorough buffing is necessary after lightly mopping your hardwood floor to avoid streaking. Make sure the floor is shiny by using a dry microfiber cloth.

Place doormats by the entrances. These mats help keep your floors cleaner by reducing the dust and dirt your feet track into your home.

Don’t wear shoes indoors. It is possible to get rocks and grit stuck in the treads, damaging the floor.

Hire expert cleaners for deep cleaning instead of using store-bought products. Some cleaning agents may be unsuitable for your flooring and damage it instead.

Never use quick shine wax products. These products do not properly bond to the floor which will cause the floors to look dull and splotchy over time. Use residue free cleaners only.

Hardwood Floor Cleaning by CertaClean

Maintaining a clean hardwood floor surface can help preserve its natural luster and radiance. This involves regular sweeping, light mopping, and buffing. Additionally, a professional hardwood floor cleaning service can return its former luster.

Professionals begin the process with a thorough inspection. Next, they will strip away any acrylic/wax coating if necessary. Any grime buildup will be removed through extraction cleaning. If the floors are to be recoated, they will then be screened before the finish is applied.

If the original floor finish is still in good shape, screening and recoating may not be needed.

Yes. Floor finish creates a barrier between the wood and floor traffic, making it easier to clean because spills and debris will remain on the surface.

Use suitable cleaning tools, equipment, and products that are safe for hardwood floors. Better yet, consult with a professional hardwood floor cleaning service with maintenance knowledge and experience.
